It doesn’t take long and we realize that season 2 happens in Los Angeles. What does this mean for the booze tally? I’m not 100% sure yet, but I expect we’re going to see a lot of Hollywood and potentially movie executives, so there could be a level or elevated amount of drinking this season, but I’m thinking we’re going to see less brown drinks and New York cocktails, potentially more vibrant and interesting drinks in stemware…oh, and maybe more wine, but I don’t expect the TV screenwriters to consider that major American wine producers are not far north. I guess we’ll see.
- “I’m usually a whiskey girl but this is the best wine I’ve ever tasted”
right after she tastes a bit of doctor Wilkes’ home brew red in a beaker. I’m bothered by his lab fabricated wine. There is something so traditional and innately cottage about wine making that it’s hard for me to accept he’s making wine. If he was distilling something…I’d believe that more, but whatevs. - “At least they didn’t find my scotch distillery” A corny joke to impress the lady, but the reference gives us another tick for our tally
- Vernon Masters invites Jack Thompson to the local bar (this place has seen a lot of action from the previous season) for a drink and a discussion about Jack’s career. Masters is one of those seedy wheeler dealers…the end justifies the means kind of characters one that usually has a long and significant presence in extended storylines like these and I hope we see or hear of him in future MCU productions. For this scene we get a bar and 3 brown drinks.
