For the latest Monster in a Glass episode we did something a little different. I went to Independent Spirits Inc., a little shop in my neighborhood of Edgewater, and spoke to Scott Crestodina, proprietor and spirits enthusiast, to discuss his store and his view of the craft spirits scene that is currently trending across the country. I expected to just have a quick chat with him regarding his shop, just opened two months and making quite a buzz, but he surprised me with a table set up with some items to sample. What can I say, quite the host! Even if premium liquors don’t excite you, go check out his shelves and see the diversity of products that you can’t find in your regular grocery store. Not only is it a testament to thousands of years of global culture and innovation, both old and new, but if you enjoy a good drink now and then, it’ll point out just what you’re missing.
