If you're into thinkin' and drinkin'

Posts in category Marvel Cinematic Universe

So I’m usually late to all of the really hot trends. This is no different. Once I discovered the interconnectedness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe my OCD brain exploded and I immediately wanted to start meticulously watching them in chronological order. Also, I’ve heard Netflix will lose rights to the films within the year and we won’t access on that platform soon, so I best get moving.

Since I’m already obsessively engaged, I might as well go whole hog and record all of the drinking and drinks in the movies and TV episodes…in order. It’s gotta be done sooo….

Agent Carter S2E6 – Life of the Party

Whityney Frost makes her powerplay. Calvin Chadwick won’t be a consideration…nor will half of the Council of Nine. In Peggy’s room she has a decanter of brown spirits. Again, I have to ask if this is normal, normal for her, or something she’s doing now because she had a piece of ribar thrust through her […]

Agent Carter S2E5 – The Atomic Job

Here we finally see Peggy-Daniel-Violet love triangle sub-plot move along a little bit more wherein Violet recognizes how much Daniel really cares for Peggy. One thing I really liked about the development of this conflict is that nobody is a bad guy here. I feel like often somebody is considered a relationship wrecker or a […]

Agent Carter S2E4 – Smoke and Mirrors

As the drama escalates there is a little less time for drinking. And Whitney Frost’s face cracks up. Flashback to Peggy Carter’s engagement party where she and her fiance and brother are all sitting at a table discussing the war. Many people are in the scene drinking so it’s a bar scene. Total number of […]

Agent Carter S2E3 – Better Angels

In this episode we learn the name of the gentlemens’ club that hosts The Council of Nine is the Arena Club and much time is spent there. Due to that fact and the presence of Howard Stark and his standard level of intoxication and how much he parties there is quite a bit of drinking […]

Agent Carter S1 Tally

In Agent Carter Season 1 we see the tally being effected by the New York setting, heavy 50s urban cocktailing and the overwhelming prevalence of Scotch and bourbon, the Russian plot line providing a little vodka and the playboy status of Howard Stark bumping up the general intoxication of the season. It’ll be interesting to […]

Agent Carter S1E7 – SNAFU

Does this stuff implode, explode or spice up an old fashioned? It’s not surprising Dooley knows the old fashioned given the times even if he would just prefer straight scotch. #BittersInEverything #RogersInEverything   Two glasses of white wine in Dooley’s home life fantasy. I had a little trouble with this one. You can note in […]

Agent Carter S2E2 – A View In The Dar...

Holy shit there is so much drinking in this episode it was hard to track. Not only was there a lot of drinking but just a lot of story crammed into 45 minutes. I felt like I had just watched 3 episodes with everything that happened, but amazingly I don’t feel like I was cheated […]

Agent Carter S2E1 – The Lady In The L...

It doesn’t take long and we realize that season 2 happens in Los Angeles. What does this mean for the booze tally? I’m not 100% sure yet, but I expect we’re going to see a lot of Hollywood and potentially movie executives, so there could be a level or elevated amount of drinking this season, […]

Agent Carter S1E6 – A Sin To Err

Let’s take a break. How about a drink? Thank you. How about two? Dooley pours himself and Dr. Ivchenko two short glasses of brown liquid…it came from Dooley’s office so it is scotch. Dooley pours 3 more through the scene talking with the doctor. I need you to go to your favorite bar. Order a […]

Agent Carter S1E5 – The Iron Ceiling

This was a very boozy episode. It also brings back other characters from the Captain America movie which is something I appreciate for the continuity. Dum-Dum Dougan asks Peggy if she brought him what he asked. When she produces a bottle she says is from her own private stash he says The Germans are geniuses […]
